Getting to Your Highlights Foundation Workshop

Welcome to our community! If you’ve never been here before, logistics may seem overwhelming. But we make that part easy, so you can focus on learning and your creative spirit.

1. Decide How You’ll Get Here

Our Retreat Center is located near the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania. It’s worlds away from the grind of daily life, but we make it easy for you to get here.  Find information about traveling by car, bus, train, or plane here.

2. Register for the Workshop

Find the workshop you want to register for, and click “Register now.”

Complete the form, giving us information about:

  • Yourself
  • Your dietary preferences (we’ll honor them and you’ll enjoy three deliciously prepared meals per day)
  • Your travel

You can choose to pay a deposit, or pay the full workshop price on your credit card.

If you choose the deposit option, we’ll secure your spot and then charge the rest 6-8 weeks before the workshop start date. If you would like to set up a different payment plan, email support@highlightsfoundation.zendesk.com for details.

If you’re choosing a workshop with an application process (this is noted on the workshop description page where applicable), we will not charge your credit card until you have applied to and been accepted into the workshop. You should not make travel arrangements for application-based workshops until you receive confirmation of your acceptance.

If you need to cancel for any reason, the any monies paid can be applied toward a future workshop or Personal Retreat.

3. Confirm Your Details

Once you are registered, someone from our office will confirm your details and contact you if there are any issues. You can contact us at support@highlightsfoundation.zendesk.com at any time for questions.

As your workshop gets closer, you’ll receive more detailed information specific to your experience as required, including logistics information.

4. Learn and Enjoy

When you arrive, you’ll get to relax, learn and enjoy. And you’ll leave with knowledge, a renewed zest for your craft, and connections to a community of like-minded children’s writers, illustrators, and publishing professionals.
