Community Standards

At the Highlights Foundation, we are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. We recognize the rich cultures and experiences that define our world and the great accomplishments that come from a diverse mix of ideas, backgrounds, and life events. We believe we gain strength from embracing these differences and celebrating the qualities that make each person unique. This is an integral part of who we are.

Being part of this community requires mutual trust and care. Every person who enters our community, whether in-person or online—including faculty, staff, students and attendees—has a responsibility in helping to create a safe, caring and nurturing environment. That means engaging in no hate, no harm and no harassment of any kind.

The Highlights Foundation community is committed to creating a safe community with authentic and expressive discussions that build camaraderie and knowledge. At times, discussions may be sensitive and private. We encourage the community to care for each other by being thoughtful before sharing online posts/ comments/discussion threads outside of the community, and by seeking consent from the original poster/commenter.

Please Note: We are committed to the care, support, inclusion, and safety of our storytellers and everyone who spends time here at the Highlights Foundation. We will not tolerate hate speech of any kind. This includes denigrating language about religion, race, gender, sexual orientation or any other hate speech.
