Sandra K. Athans is a practicing Literacy Specialist, featured speaker, and former classroom teacher, with expertise in grades 3 – 8 academic standards. She has worked on hundreds of projects with Educational publishers like Pearson, Rosen, Corwin, Benchmark, Rourke, Straive, Six Red Marbles, and more! She’s written lesson plans, teacher guides, decodables, reader’s theater skits, nonfiction, biographies, hi-lo tween fiction, and early readers. She has also published MG nonfiction in the Trade market with Millbrook Press, as well as teacher resource books for Scholastic. Upcoming, she has five Educational books coming off press in 2026 and a co-authored (with Mike Downs) PB series out on submission. Sandra is a former Regional Advisor for the West Central Upstate NY region of the SCBWI.
