Katie Kawa

Katie Kawa is an Editorial Director at Rosen Publishing. She manages Rosen’s Cavendish Square Publishing, KidHaven Publishing, and Windmill Books imprints, in addition to overseeing the company’s acquired content.

Katie has been working in educational publishing for 13 years, beginning her career with Rosen upon graduation from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, in 2010, with a BA in English and Communication Studies. She worked her way up the editorial ladder, beginning as an Editorial Assistant before moving on to a position as Editor and then beginning to work as an Editorial Director in 2016.

Along the way, Katie has authored many books for young readers on topics that range from pop culture and sports to presidents and baby animals. Her favorite books to write and develop are ones that explain current events and important social and mental health topics to kids. She believes books are a key part of ensuring that the next generation has the knowledge, empathy, and sense of self necessary to build a better world.

When she’s not writing, Katie is usually planning her next vacation, and you can often find her enjoying some magic in Walt Disney World. She’s also an avid tap dancer and a passionate fangirl who loves books, movies, TV shows, and boy bands. She lives in Western New York and spends most of her fall and winter cheering for her beloved Buffalo Bills.
