LEE BENNETT HOPKINS SCHOLARSHIP

In honor of friend and faculty member Lee Bennett Hopkins, we have established a scholarship in his name for our Craft & Heart of Writing Poetry for Children workshop.

“Lee Bennett Hopkins, who was a dedicated champion for poetry and friend to the Highlights Foundation, family, and corporation, would be over the moon with gratitude for having this scholarship bestowed on a member of the poetry community in his name. It was my honor to be Lee’s friend for so many years. He wanted good poetry to be accessible to all children, and so would be thankful to know that writers will continue the tradition of learning and writing and striving to do just that. This scholarship will invoke memories of Lee and his work for years to come.” — Rebecca Kai Dotlich
