Jewish Writers/Illustrators of Color Scholarship

This scholarship supports tuition for a writer or illustrator identifying as a Jewish person of color to attend a Highlights Foundation in-person or online workshop of the applicant’s choice. Assistance toward traveling expenses will be offered if available.

A second scholarship will be available for a writer or illustrator identifying as a Jewish person of color to attend a three-night Personal Retreat at the Highlights Foundation Retreat Center.

This scholarship was established by author Katherine Locke. They have been on the faculty for our Jewish Symposium and have been a strong advocate for Jewish children’s book authors.
