Leda Schubert

Leda Schubert is the author of ten picture books, both fiction and non-fiction. Titles include Listen: How Pete Seegar Got America Singing (Porter/RB), Monsieur Marceau: Actor Without Words (Porter/RB), winner of the Orbis Pictus Award and the Sugarman Award for Excellence in Nonfiction, and Ballet of the Elephants (RB). Forthcoming are Trailblazer: The Story of Ballerina Raven Wilkinson (little bee) and Dogs Love Cars (Candlewick.) Leda was on the core faculty at VCFA’s MFA program in writing for children and YA, and graduated from that program in 2004. She’s been a teacher, a school and public librarian, and the school library consultant for the Vermont Department of Education. She lives in Plainfield, VT, with her husband and two dogs, one a saint and one a sinner.
