Katherine Locke

Katherine Locke lives and writes in Philadelphia where they’re ruled by their feline overlords and their addiction to chai lattes. They secretly believe most stories are fairytales-in-disguise. They wrote Second Position, Finding Center and Turning Pointe, three contemporary romances. Their debut YA novel, The Girl With the Red Balloon, was a 2018 Sydney Taylor Honor Book and a Paste Magazine Best YA of 2017 pick. They also wrote The Spy With the Red Balloon and contributed to Unbroken: 13 Stories Starring Disabled Teens. They are a co-editor and contributor to It’s a Whole Spiel, an anthology of Jewish YA stories releasing from Knopf in 2019. They can be found online at @bibliogato on Twitter and Instagram, and on their website, KatherineLockeBooks.com

Visiting Our Campus

Our campus (The Barn at Boyds Mills) is tucked away in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.  It's a few hours from both New York City and Philadelphia, but worlds away from everyday life.
