In spite of the adage to write what you know, Anne Marie Pace has never been a vampire, a ballerina, a groundhog, or a tow truck driver. Her picture books include SUNNY’S TOW TRUCK SAVES THE DAY (Abrams Appleseed, 2019, illustrated by Christopher Lee); GROUNDHUG DAY (Disney-Hyperion, 2017, illustrated by Christopher Denise); PIGLOO (Henry Holt, 2016, illustrated by Lorna Hussey); BUSY-EYED DAY (Beach Lane Books, 2018, illustrated by Frann Preston-Gannon); and the four books of the VAMPIRINA BALLERINA series (Disney-Hyperion, 2012-present, illustrated by LeUyen Pham), which has been adapted into Disney Junior’s Emmy-nominated hit animated series VAMPIRINA. Coming in 2022 is MOUSE CALLS, illustrated by Erin Balzer. She lives with her family in Virginia.
“The faculty, Sudipta [Bardhan-Quallen] & Anne Marie [Pace] were fantastic. It was wonderful to receive direction from such established and prolific writers. They brought a great deal of enthusiasm to their presentations.”
“The tools Sudipta [Bardhan-Quallen] and Anne Marie have given me are priceless. I also appreciate the encouragement. I’m going to keep working and trying. Thank you so much!”
