Alan Silberberg

Alan is the author and illustrator of three Viking picture books with Jewish themes; MEET THE LATKES, MEET THE MATZAH and MEET THE HAMANTASHEN. Next up are two board books from Viking; LATKE’S FIRST HANUKKAH and P IS FOR PASTRAMI – An ABC of Jewish Food.

Alan’s cartoon-filled MG novel MILO: STICKY NOTES & BRAIN FREEZE (Aladdin/S&S) received the SCBWI Sid Fleischman Humor Award. The book was partially written and illustrated while he was the James Thurber Children’s Author in Residence in Columbus, Ohio.

In a former life Alan wrote and created TV shows for Nickelodeon, Disney, PBS and more. He has a B.A. in “Cartoon-Communication-Education” and M.Ed from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.

Alan is forever thankful to have been included on the inaugural PJ Library Author/Illustrator Israel tour; a magical, heart-opening experience.
