Patricia Lee Gauch

Former vice president and editor at large of Philomel Books, Patti is now a fulltime writer and lecturer. She has authored more than 40 picture books and novels for young readers, including the highly acclaimed Thunder at Gettysburg; This Time, Tempe Wick?; Christina Katerina and the Box, and  The Green of Me.  Patti  holds a doctorate in English literature, has taught children’s literature on the college level, and has reviewed for the New York Times. She has edited three Caldecott books, including Owl MoonSo You Want to Be President? and  Lon Po Po , and has worked with many well-known authors and artists, including artists Eric Carle, Patricia Polacco, Loren Long, David Small, and novelists Brian Jacques, Andrew Clements, T.A. Barron,  Katherine Erskine and more.  For many years  on the  faculty of the Highlights Chautauqua summer writing program,  she came to The Barn (Boyds Mills) where she has happily taught workshops for the Highlights Foundation for over fifteen  years.
