The Master Class: The Search for Voice November 2015 | November 5 – November 8, 2015

Announcing another opportunity in 2015 for writers searching for voice—to work with Patricia Lee Gauch. Patti has developed and published some of the finest children’s literature, including two Caldecott Medal winners. This workshop is open to writers who haven’t already registered for one of Patti’s 2015 classes. See below to apply.

In the rush to publication, writers often miss the opportunity to stop and take time to bring their writing to a higher level. We admire the very language—words and sentences and passages—not to mention the extraordinarily original characters, of Jerry Spinelli, Kate Di Camillo, Sharon Creech, Grace Lin, and others. We wonder at their extraordinary relationship with language and storytelling. How do they do it?

During this workshop, experienced writers will join editor and writer Patti Gauch as they reach for that power in language, exploring the passion-driven moment, authentic spirit and voice, and the hidden power of the concrete detail, coming to language in new, bold, and original ways.

This class is limited to ten experienced or published writers.

Our all-inclusive price means we provide:Transportation from the airport, lodging, all meals, unlimited snacks, and wireless Internet access.
