Teachers

Eve Becker

Leaf and Pen is directed by Eve Becker. Eve taught secondary school English in New York City for two decades. Prior to that, she was a freelance writer and editor in both print and digital publishing, and was a writer-in-the-schools, working with students and teachers in K-12 classrooms around the city. She currently teaches in both the Comp and Rhetoric and Creative Writing programs at Pace University and supervises student teachers at Teachers College, Columbia University. Eve was awarded the nationally acclaimed Pushcart Prize for her essay “Final Concert” (Pushcart Prize 2012) and is the author of over thirty published young adult novels. She holds a BA from Oberlin College, an MSEd from Cambridge College, and an EdM from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Making protected time for teachers to write is Eve’s mission. We need the processing and self-care and creativity. We are the solution.
