Jennifer Herrera joined the David Black Agency in 2015 after working at Fletcher & Company and Europa Editions, where she was an early advocate of Elena Ferrante. She went to college in Ohio, where she studied Philosophy, French, and Russian, and has master’s degrees in Philosophy and Social Sciences.
Her first love is non-fiction, and she is actively looking to build her list in middle grade and young adult nonfiction. Of particular interest to her are historical non-fiction in the vein of Steve Sheinkin’s Bomb, biographies of historical characters that are illustrative of bigger world events, and under-reported histories of those with marginalized identities. She also loves books about science, math, and philosophy. She is not looking for picture books at this time.
