Shirley Idelson

Special Guest Rabbi Shirley Idelson serves as Senior Advisor at the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF), where she is helps bring new, excellent books with Jewish content into PJ Library. Passionate about Jewish learning, art, music and writing, she has focused on these professionally in a variety of settings. Prior to joining HGF, she served as Dean of the New York campus at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. She also was a producer, reporter and announcer at Minnesota Public Radio, and directed Arts and Religion in the Twin Cities. She holds a doctorate in History from the CUNY Graduate Center as well as a MS in Journalism from Columbia University, and she is now completing a book on Stephen S. Wise and the founding of the Jewish Institute of Religion.
