Nurturing Your Artistic Voice: A Guide for Kidlit Rebels and Risk-takers 2019

September 22 - 25, 2019

Overview

Uncover ways to bring your artistic voice to the page.

The children’s book industry demands well-executed work that feels fresh and can serve today’s competitive market. But how do we merge business demands with the truest artistic expression of ourselves? We must develop a strong artistic voice to celebrate a rich honesty beyond composition, elevating the urgency, authenticity, and beauty of our individual stories. Illustrator Carolyn Flores and author Meg Medina will lead participants in an exploration of identity, creativity, and publishing to help bring each author’s and illustrator’s voice to the page.
