Linda Sue Park

Linda Sue Park has been writing stories for as long as she can remember. She was nine years old when she saw her words published for the first time: a haiku in Trailblazer magazine:

In the green forest
A sparkling, bright blue pond hides.
And animals drink.

Thirty years and a world of experiences separated this poem and her first children’s book, Seesaw Girl. Since then, Linda Sue has gone on to write more than twenty stories for children, including the Newbery Award winning, A Single Shard, and the NY Times bestseller, A Long Walk to Water.
