Barbara Krasner received her MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults from Vermont College in January 2006. For four years, she served on the Association of Jewish Libraries’ prestigious Sydney Taylor Book Award committee, and reviews children’s books and Holocaust titles for the Association of Jewish Libraries and the Jewish Book Council. She publishes the successful blog The Whole Megillah: The Writers’ Resource for Jewish Story. Her picture book, Goldie Takes a Stand!, a story of young Golda Meir (Kar-Ben, 2014), won a Sydney Taylor Honor Award and her Holocaust picture book, Liesl’s Ocean Rescue (Gihon River Press, 2014), won a 2015 Florida Authors & Publishers Silver Award. Her YA Holocaust novella, 15 Minutes, comes out from Gihon River Press in 2016. She also writes many children’s nonfiction books for educational publishers. Krasner teaches creative writing and children’s literature at William Paterson University in New Jersey.
