Talia Benamy is an assistant editor at Philomel Books, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers Group. In addition to cultivating her own list, Talia works closely with two editors, focusing on everything from pictures books to middle grade and young adult novels. Authors she’s published include Chelsea Clinton, Jane Yolen, Lisa Graff, Ruta Sepetys, and Terry Border. She recently worked with Melanie Crowder on her National Jewish Book Award honoree, Audacity. Talia is actively looking for realistic and historical fiction for middle grade and young adults, as well as quality narrative nonfiction for all ages, and finding positive Jewish content for children is high on her wishlist. In addition to her life in publishing, Talia is also co-chair of the New York City chapter of J Street, the pro-Israel, pro-peace organization, and she is a member of the Council of Young Jewish Presidents as well.
