Ruth Sanderson

Ruth Sanderson is the award-winning illustrator of more than seventy-five books for children. She is well known for her fairy-tale retellings, including The Twelve Dancing Princesses, Goldilocks, Papa Gatto, Rose Red and Snow White, and Cinderella. She was given the Texas Bluebonnet Award for The Golden Mare, The Firebird, and The Magic Ring. Her work has appeared on a number of YA and adult fantasy book covers, in magazines, greeting cards, puzzles, and other licensed products. She has been included in exhibitions at the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Society of Illustrators, The Original Art, the Delaware Museum of Art, the Art Museum of Western Virginia, and the Words and Pictures Museum. Recently Ruth worked with the app designers at PicPocket Books to launch an interactive version of her Cinderella for the iPad.
