Caroline Ward, a recognized authority in the field of library services to youth, is the Coordinator of Youth Services at the Ferguson Library in Stamford Connecticut. A regular reviewer for School Library Journal, she chaired the 1990 Newbery Committee, and in 1999-2000 served as President of the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC). In 2006 she chaired the Theodor Seuss Geisel Beginning Reader Award. Recently she served on the Children’s Book Council committee to select the National Ambassador for Children’s Literature. She is the current chair of the Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator and Writer Award.
She was honored to receive the 2005 Grolier Award from the American Library Association for Outstanding Service to Youth, and in 2007 the ALSC Distinguished Service Award.
