Location
Workshops will take place at the home of the Founders of HIGHLIGHTS FOR CHILDREN® in the wooded hills near Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Honesdale is located 2½ hours from New York City and approximately 45 minutes from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. Complimentary airport shuttle service is provided. Optional Tours

For some workshops, early arrivals may take a tour of HIGHLIGHTS FOR CHILDREN® and Boyds Mills Press offices.

Application Acceptance

Applications will be reviewed and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We will notify you of your acceptance and provide you with additional registration information as soon as your application is processed. Applicants who qualify for a workshop after it is filled can gain priority for an upcoming session.

Tuition and Payment

A deposit of $200 is required upon acceptance with the balance due before the workshop begins. Tuition includes all workshop activities and materials, as well as meals and lodging. The application process is required to attend all workshops. Payment plans are available. Payment can be made by check or credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Grants

We have some limited grant monies to aid persons attending Founders Workshops.

Lodging

Workshop participants will stay in individual guest cabins, complete with bathrooms, on the lovely wooded grounds surrounding the Highlights Founders’ home. Sessions are held in the adjoining farmhouse.

Meals and Facilities

Meals are served family style and are enjoyed together with other participants and faculty. We can accommodate most dietary requirements.
