Character is almost always at the heart of a novel—the
driving force behind it. Character creates the very fabric
of story and its spirit. This implies movement, but how does
the writer create an original, unforgettable character and
move that character through story, idea, and event?
In this workshop, writers will create that unforgettable
character and make the character grow throughout several chapters
of a book, to see the character develop as the action unfolds.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a professional
editor on the creation and development of the key element
of story.
Workshop requirement:
Submit with application a writing sample, a published article,
one chapter from your book, or a promising piece you are currently
working on.
