Are you truly expressing yourself? Have you been working the same way for far too long? Do you wish you could try something new, but you’re holding yourself back?
It’s time to reinvent yourself! The market is changing; illustrators are competing for fewer jobs. Your unique style is what will set you apart. Give yourself permission to experiment and play with new media.
Our theme for the weekend is “An Illustrator Is an Artist First.” Experience a renewal of your enthusiasm while learning a different approach to illustration.
This workshop includes
- demonstration of a variety of media;
- energizing art and illustration exercises;
- a slide show presentation of “Artists Who Are Illustrators and Illustrators Who Are Artists”; and
- an illustration project designed for artistic reinvention.
Working with a graduate-level instructor and award-winning picture book illustrator, you will gain essential tools and inspiration to make your work stand out in this competitive field.
NOTE: Participants should bring a portfolio or at least some samples of their work.
Workshop Fee of $895 includes cozy, individual cabins; all meals (provided by a top-notch chef); airport pickup service, if needed; and an intimate teaching setting in the living room of the Founders of Highlights for Children!
