Jane Yolen has published well over 100 picture books, including
novelty and board books, rhymed books, nonfiction picture
books, historical, animal fantasy, concept, folktale retellings,
realistic, and poetry collections. Her workshop will include
the out-loud reading of a manuscript by each participant,
which Jane will take apart and put back together again, all
the while referencing the history of the picture book, the
editors, and other matters in the publishing world so the
participants are ready to go “armored into the marketplace.”
NOTE: Please mail to us one picture book by November
21. You may bring with you another picture book to the workshop.
