Designed For: Alumni of any Founders Workshop taught by Carolyn Yoder who want to take the next step forward in their writing careers.

Limited To: 10 participants

 
 

WORKSHOP FOCUS
This is a special and unusual retreat, open only to graduates of Carolyn P. Yoder’s workshops. Participants will come together for seven days and evenings to write, relax, eat, play, and then write some more.

This workshop will include

  • one-on-one critiques with Carolyn;
  • group critiques;
  • some lectures; and
  • lots of time to write!

PLEASE NOTE: There is no assignment, but attendees are encouraged to bring to the retreat works in progress—nonfiction or historical fiction.

Workshop Tuition of $1,095 includes cozy, individual cabins; all meals (provided by a top-notch chef); airport pickup service, if needed; and an intimate teaching setting in the living room of the Founders of Highlights for Children!

Carolyn P. Yoder
Carolyn is the editor of Calkins Creek Books, the U.S. history imprint of Boyds Mills Press, and the senior editor of history and world cultures at Highlights magazine. She is the author of John Adams: The Writer; Becoming George Washington; George Washington: The Writer; and three books in Heinemann Library’s We Are America series.

Carolyn has been an editor and writer for the New Jersey Historical Society and the executive director of the New Hampshire Antiquarian Society. From 1983–1996, she served as editor, editor in chief, and assistant publisher of Cobblestone Publishing, Inc.
