Founders Workshop

Heart of the Fantasy Novel (Part Two of Two-Part Class)

Complete Fantasy Draft

High fantasy is one of the all-time favorite forms of children’s books. From the witty and imaginative journey of Harry Potter to T.H. White’s Once and Future King to Brian Jacques’ Redwall books, out of the ancient Arthurian tradition, writers create powerful and magical stories that reflect as much their own history as the old tales. In this two-part workshop, writers will focus on fantasy, plumbing their own depths to create rich characters, an overarching journey, and themes that will drive their fantastical adventures. During both parts, you will have Patricia Lee Gauch’s unmatched attention and guidance. She is the editor of T.A. Barron’s Merlin series and fifteen of Brian Jacques’ Redwall books. Let the magic begin!
Payment for this two-part workshop is $2165, and is due by May 10, 2012.
