Melanie Hall

Melanie is an artist, illustrator, and graduate-level teacher whose award-winning illustrations and children’s books have been exhibited at the Society of Illustrators in New York. She has illustrated more than twenty-seven books, and among her many honors are the Parents’ Choice Award and the Sydney Taylor Notable Book Award. Several of Melanie’s books have been showcased on QVC for the past few years, and her illustration is featured in Charlotte Huck’s latest book, Children’s Literature. The Mazza Museum of the University of Findlay has purchased Melanie’s illustration for their collection of picture-book art. Her clients include Boyds Mills Press, Houghton Mifflin, Lerner, Atheneum, and Highlights for Children. Melanie taught children’s book illustration at Pratt Institute for more than ten years, and is currently teaching in the MFA Program for Working Professionals at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Melanie lives in the Hudson Valley town of Olivebridge, New York, with her husband, Ron, where she creates sculpture and mixed-media paintings for exhibition in galleries.
