Laurence Pringle

Laurence Pringle is an accomplished writer of nonfiction. He has written more than one hundred books for children about animals and insects (Dinosaurs and Their World; Cicadas! Strange and Wonderful; An Extraordinary Life: The Story of a Monarch Butterfly, to name just a few), as well as humanitarian and environmental issues. Larry is the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Other honors include the Eva L. Gordon Award for Children’s Science Literature, the Washington Post/Children’s Book Guild Nonfiction Award, and the Special Conservation Award from the National Wildlife Federation.  In 2006, Larry was awarded the Guggenheim Foundation fellowship for science writing.
