Melanie Hall

Melanie Hall

Melanie is a children’s book illustrator, fine artist, and college professor. She has called the Hudson Valley home for more than thirty years. She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and Pratt Institute, and received her MFA at Marywood University in Pennsylvania. She taught at Pratt Institute for ten years and is currently teaching in the MFA program at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Melanie also teaches illustration workshops at the Highlights Foundation in Boyds Mills, Pennsylvania.

She has illustrated more than thirty children’s books and has exhibited her artwork at the Society of Illustrators in New York. Her work is in the collection of the Mazza Museum at the University of Findlay, Ohio, and she has won numerous awards, including the Parents’ Choice Award for her picture books. Melanie’s illustrations have been published by Simon and Schuster, Scholastic, Houghton Mifflin, Lerner, Atheneum, Boyds Mills Press, Highlights For Children, and HarperCollins. Currently, Melanie is collaborating with her husband Ron in creating picture books.
